2001 Saranac Lake Tournament
"Touring Women Over Thirty"

A group of FSU Old Girls helped the Touring Women to a 3rd place finish at this year's CanAm Tournament in Saranac Lake, NY. All you old girls out there - start your training for next year's squad!

Wrap up by our fearless leader, Meg Votta

We started off on Saturday at the ungodly hour of 8:00 to face the young and big - Onchiata Janes. After just a few minutes it was obvious who was going to control the game - final score TWOTS 47 - Janes 0. Later in the afternoon we took the field against an even younger - under 23 N.E. select side. While we had a brief moment of nervousness - the jitters were quickly erased when the whistle blew and again the Age + Treachery + Experience burst through. TWOTS 27 - KIDS 0!!

Sunday morning and again we are on the field at the ungodly hour of 8:00. While we once again had a crushing defeat (at the hand's of the referee!!) to Beantown (10-5) in the semis - we were quite a happy bunch sitting on the hill - drinking out of our Margarita Sisters Ball and watching Beantown get a whoop ass whooping in the final!!!

Our best to Candi - hope that you have recovered fully - we sure missed you on the field. To Krista - thanks for scoring - what was it 8 or 9 tries! To Kathy - thanks for being the wonderful leader that you are. To BB - thanks for your advice - I think! and thanks especially to Paul for going over the top in his support of us. The dinner was fabulous, the pinata a hoot, the Margaritas - delicious and those handy cups - just tooooo much. You are the best!

We are in for next year - so mark your calendars for the first long weekend in August.

Again, thanks to everyone for such a fabulous weekend!

Meg
